The Thai government imposed a state of emergency in Bangkok. The policy issued to dispel anti-government protests that paralyzed Bangkok.

As quoted by Reuters on Tuesday (21/01/2014), emergency status valid for a period of 60 days. Thailand is scheduled to hold parliamentary elections on February 2, 2014.

With a state of emergency, the officer has the authority to run and catch the evening hours without charge demonstrators. Officers are also entitled to prohibit political gatherings of more than five people attended.

Conditions Thailand heats up ahead of parliamentary elections. Stronghold of anti-government rejected the elections and called for occupying Bangkok until the election was canceled.

Chaotic political instability in Thailand started since November 2013. Opposition figures, Suthep Thaugsuban, mobilize the masses to overthrow Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
