Scott Morrison , the Australian Immigration Minister said that he received the notice on Wednesday ( 15/01/2014 ) when the ship they were on duty guarding the border into the territorial waters of Indonesia , and even performed a couple of times .
Morrison also confirmed that this problem because navigational error and violated Australian government development policy . In addition it was reported that Admiral Griggs , the Australian Naval Staff , has made a phone call to the Indonesian Navy Chief on Thursday ( 16/01/2014 ) to provide an explanation .
Morrison also said that Bishop , Minister of Foreign Affairs , also tried to speak with Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa on Thursday , to explain the conversation by officials Llaut forces of the two countries and to apologize to Indonesia on behalf of the Australian Government .
Morrison revealed that Australia remains committed to respect the territorial integrity of both countries . Besides, he also asserted that the Australian Government will strive to not make a mistake and come back to invade the sovereignty of Indonesia for the umpteenth time .
" We as a government have assumed that operational errors such as a very serious issue , " Morrison said in an interview on Friday ( 01/17/2014 ) .
