Tyler J Doohan ( 8 ) will be remembered as a hero after he died saving a six- member family from a fire that hit his car home in New York .
Tyler was staying at his brother 's residence in the town of Penfield , on Sunday ( 01/19/2014 ) night when he saw flames appear in the trailer .
When firefighters and police responded to an emergency call about 4.45 pm , Monday ( 20/01/2014 ) , Tyler had six people in the house woke the car .
" He woke everyone up , including two children aged 4 and 6 years old , " said Penfield Fire Brigade Commander , Chris Ebmeyer .
Once people wake six families , Tyler returned to the mobile home to help his uncle , Steven D Smith , handicapped and unable to get out of the car without assistance .
" At that time , the fire had spread to the back of the car and the roof of the house collapsed . Tyler and her uncle died of heat and smoke inhalation , " added Ebmeyer .
In addition to Tyler and his uncle , grandfather Louis Beach also died and his body was found in the car 's front room .
Neighbors and friends remember him as a Tyler school boy who is very active and he will be remembered as a hero .
" It's important to remember that Tyler was the first to notice the fire and tried to wake the eight people in the house . Boldly and without thought of self , Tyler managed to save six people . She was a hero , " said Richard Stutzman Jr. of the School District East Rochester .
So far, the cause of the fire which destroyed the mobile home could not be ascertained . However , firefighters suspect the cause of the fire was electrical short circuit .
