US-Philippines Defense Treaty Signed New
U.S. President Barack Obama , Monday ( 28/04/2014 ) , said the United States is trying to control or cope with China , a few hours after agreeing a new defense treaty with the Philippines .

This is confirmed President Obama in a press conference with the President of the Philippines , Benigno Aquino , after signing a new defense agreement with the government in Manila .
The new agreement will give U.S. forces access to military bases in the Philippines over and increase the rotation of troops, warplanes and warships in the country .
But Obama insists that this does not mean the United States is trying to restore its base , which was closed after the U.S. forces were expelled from the Philippines in 1991 .
The journalists reported that tensions between the Philippines and China in the disputed territory to be one of the reasons Manila to sign an agreement that defense .
President Obama also said his government will not determine the attitude of sovereignty contested a number of countries , such as China , Malaysia , Japan , Philippines and Vietnam .
However the United States , according to Obama , have an interest in sailing freedom in the region and expects peaceful settlement .
" In line with the law and international norms , we found no coercion and intimidation as a way of managing the dispute , " he explained .
Obama's visit to the Philippines is part of a tour of several Asian countries , including Japan , South Korea , and Malaysia .
